Man, 28, docked over alleged theft of car engine, gear

Two men — Kenneth George and Godwin Oriamaja– charged for allegedly demanding for arms and ammunition from an ex-militant, were on Friday docked at an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court.

George, 32, and Oriamaja, 23, who are resident in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, had appeared on a two-count charge of conspiracy and manner likely to cause a breach of peace.

The duo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olatunde, insisted that the duo had committed the offences on July 1, at Ikorodu.

He told the court that the accused had placed a call through to Pere Agbala, the complainant, an ex-militant, and had demanded that he supplied them with arms and ammunition, for an operation.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 168(d) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015(Revised).

The Magistrate, Mrs A.S. Okubule, admitted the duo to a bail of N200,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until Oct. 5, for mention.
