Man remanded in prison over alleged burglary, stealing
An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 28-year-old man, Niyi Oluyole, in prison over alleged burglary and stealing
The prosecutor, Sgt. Oriyomi Akinwale , told the court that the accused and others at large committed the offence on Dec. 13, 2016, at Zone 7, Olorunsogo in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the accused and others at large, allegedly broke into the apartment of the complainant, one Olutoye Michael.
He also alleged that the accused and others at large stole N148,000 cash, one Dell laptop computer screen, valued at N300,000, one Sony digital camera valued at N568,000, belonging to the complainant.
The prosecutor alleged that the accused also stole N38, 000 belonging to one Mr Uweh Anayo.
He said the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Vol.1 Laws of Ekiti State 2012.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused in prison pending legal advice from office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The plea of the accused was not taken while Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Ajibade, ordered the remand of the accused and adjourned the case until Aug. 29.
