Lagos Grows Talent Winners Finally Receive Their Cheques

Lagos Grows Talent 2017 has come to an end. The mud cheque was presented on the last day of the event. The winners had been eager to finally collect their money and it was finally the day, January 8, 2017 at the Sodium Brand Solutions office on Allen-Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos. The real cheque was presented by Mrs Titilope Oremade, the General Manager for the agency.

Lagos Grows Talent is an initiative of the Lagos State Government as part of the activities of the yearly, One Lagos Fiesta. This is where talents are sourced and given a platform to showcase themselves across five areas in Lagos State such as Epe, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Badagry, and Ikeja. Winners are selected across these districts for a final performance and selection at the finale where the top winners are announced.

Excitement and joy filled the air as the winners finally collected their real cheques and headed to the bank to cash it. This is a life changing opportunity for the top three winners, the first being, Ishola Idris who won One million and Five Hundred Thousand. The second winner being, Onyekachi Alexandra who took home One million Naira and the third winner, and Gouvani Vidal walked away with Five Hundred Thousand Naira.

The welcomed initiative was instituted by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in order to promote Lagos State as a hub for entertainment and to source and promote talents from all across the nook and cranny of the state. Talents who will be encouraged financially and with free publicity which can then propel them to continue to do more in Lagos and achieve greater feat.

Speaking at the cheque presentation event, the winner, Ishola Idris appreciated Lagos State Government for the gesture and shared on what he will do with the money. “I am very grateful for Governor Ambode. I love him so much, I want him to be my daddy”, he said.

The young winner also shared on what he will do with the money he won “I will further my education with the money and use the remaining to sponsor my musical career. I will also be making a new video for my song”, he rounded up.
