Airtel Nigeria on Tuesday unveiled Nigerian music icons, 2Baba, Waje, Timi Dankolo and Patoranking as coaches for The Voice Nigeria, a reality TV show.
The announcement of the coaches in Lagos serves as the conclude preparedness for the maiden edition of the Airtel sponsored show, The Voice Nigeria.
The talent hunt will kick off on April 10, 2016.
Speaking at the press conference, Director of M-Net, Mr. Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, said that, The Voice Nigeria, is an internationally renowned franchise and has consistently provided existing television content whilst giving great opportunities to talented individual to showcase their talent to the world.
According to Mba-Uzoukwu, the Nigerian adaptation will be no different and the viewers can expect the best television entertainment even as the industry wait to discover the next generation of talented singers.
He stressed that The Voice Nigeria employs the same format including a panel of four coaches who critique the contestants’ performances.
“The coaches guide their teams of selected artistes through the remainder of the season whilst also competing to ensure that their act wins the competition.
“The voice has won audiences in countries like United State, South Africa, United Kingdom and Australia, where other renowned artistes have occupied the show’s famous red chair as coaches”, he explained.
Mr. Ahmad Mokhles, Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria and sponsors of The Voice Nigeria, said that the telecommunications is passionate about creating platform that will delight, excite, entertain and engage talented youth as well as telecoms consumers across the country.
Mokhles further said that, the voice Nigeria demonstrates Airtel commitment to its vision of connecting Nigerians to their dreams.
“Airtel also pleased by the fact that the majority of the coaches are not just icons in their respective music genres but also members of the telecommunication, underscoring our intense interest and support for the entertainment and creative industry”, he explained.
