ANXIETY! Arepo residents fear reprisal attacks, mass exodus at Ibafo

Residents of Arepo community in Ogun State have appealed to military authorities to save them from possible reprisal attacks in the hands of militants.

This call followed the aerial bombardment carried out in the community against pilpeline vandals where scores of them were reportedly killed in the process.

It has been gathered that the military has vowed to continue in the assault against then militants damaging the nation’s economic resources.

“The bombardment began on Thursday evening with one missile released but on Friday evening, another missile was fired at the community,” an eyewitness said.

In the same vein, some residents in Ibafo area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government of Ogun State have commenced mass movement out of the homes as fears grow over possible attacks by the military in the area. The residents fear possible mistaken identity from the militants.

When our reporter visited the area, the community have now turned to a ghost area.

A resident who identified herself as Dupe Olarewaju, said that the militants in the area are now raping women and steal livestock since they could not go out to buy things in the market.

Farmers in the area also said that all their labours have been taken away by the “merciless” militants who now enters compounds and do stop and search for any individuals that may want to go in or come out of the community.

The NEWSVERGE gathered that a resident who attempted to pack out of the community was beaten to a state of coma by the militants and the truck driver.

Appealing to the security agencies, Mr. Sunday Ibiyemi, and Mr. Tosin Benson, landlords in the community, said they have no place to run to as everyone in the community now live in fear and danger.
