Bayelsa poll: APC chieftains reject Sylva's campaign team membership

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bayelsa state, Mr Yekini Nabena has said that the governorship primary of the party held in the state on Tuesday, 22 September, is not cancelled, and will not be cancelled.

Bayelsa: APC primary not cancelled – NabenaNabena, insisted that the party’s primary was free and fair and a winner emerged, then asked, “so why the cancellation? It cannot be cancelled and will not be cancelled”.

The election claimed to have been won by the former governor of Bayelsa state Timipre Sylva, was adjudged to be a fraud by the Edo State Governor, Comrade Adam Oshiomole-led seven man committee set up by the APC, was cancelled by the party.

“The National Executive Committee meeting of the party will hold on Monday, 28 September 2015 on the purported cancellation, nobody, he said, has the right to cancel the primary election”, Nabena said.

Irregularities during the primaries was however noted as the chairman of the committee, Governor Adams Oshiomole who was said to have arrived the Samson Siasia stadium, venue of the primary election at some minutes after 12 noon was immediately whisked away by the Joint Task Force for safety after holding meeting with his committee members.
