Ebonyi council polls: PDP attributes victory to governor’s achievements

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the achievements of Gov. Dave Umahi earned it victory at the just concluded Ebonyi state local government polls.

The party said this in a statement signed by the PDP National Caretaker Committee’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Dayo Adeyeye on Monday in Abuja.

PDP congratulated all the newly elected Chairmen and Councillors in the 13 Local Government Areas and 171 Wards of Ebonyi State in the Saturday council polls.

“No doubt, the successful elections with landslide victories for the 13 Council Chairmen and 171 Ward Councillors in Ebonyi have onceagain, demonstrated PDP’s strength.

“It has also demonstrated the popularity of the PDP in the South-East Zone of the country and Ebonyi State in particular.

“We therefore make bold to state that Ebonyi State is home of the PDP.”

It explained that the elections’ outcome also showed that PDP brand remains the most acceptable in all states, “as the only national party well-grounded and experienced on issues of democratic governance.

“The PDP government in the state is promising not to relent in its effort towards the provisions of good governance.”
