She applauded the President’s commitment to stem corruption, said the fight against corruption will receive a boost when the wellbeing and future of the citizenry are adequately catered for through the contributory pension scheme which remains one of the best things employers can bequeath to workers after work

 

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to use the enforcement of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) as tool to tackle corruption as people will shun illicit activities when they know their future is secured.

A concerned stakeholder said this in Lagos, stressing that enforcement of the Pension Reform Act 2014 across board will raise the moral of workers and stem illicit activities such as falsification of age; embezzlement of funds and other financial malpractices in private and public organisations.

She applauded the President’s commitment to stem corruption, said the fight against corruption will receive a boost when the wellbeing and future of the citizenry are adequately catered for through the contributory pension scheme which remains one of the best things employers can bequeath to workers after work.

She noted that the PRA 2014, has put in place safety valves and measures to carter for the present and future of workers, adding that workers can only maximize the huge benefits in the Act when their employers embrace the scheme.

She commended states such as – Lagos, Ogun, Niger, Kaduna, Delta, Ondo and Jigawa for embracing the scheme and called on others that are yet to come on board to urgently do so in order for their workers to have guaranteed future.

She also called on employers in the private sector that are yet to embrace the scheme, to do so for the benefits of their workers, stressing that pension plans remain one of the best motivating instruments any employer can leverage to get maximum outputs from employees.
