Ikoyi Club 1938 elects new General Committee members

Swimfest Competition: Ikoyi Club 1938 to defend title in Germany

The foremost family Club in Nigeria, Ikoyi Club 1938 has elected new set of members into the General Committee to carry on the administration of the Club for the next 2 years.

The new committee members were sworn into office during the Annual General Meeting of the Club held on the 23rd of February, 2017 at the Club House, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The newly elected members of the General Committee has Mr Babatunde Akinleye as Chairman, while Dr Adekunle Wright is the Vice-Chairman.

Other committee members include Mr Olukunle Oyewole as Honorary Secretary, Mr Ayo Ogunyinka as Honorary Treasurer.

The committee also have sports subcommittees. Mr Adebayo Alli will serve as Golf Captain, Mr Abayomi Ogundipe as Swimming Chairman, while Mr Esan Ogunleye is the Tennis Chairman.

Mr Ifeanyi Maduka is Squash Chairman, Mr Sunday Wusu is Badminton Chairman, Mr Adebayo Afolabi is Table Tennis Chairman.

Mr Victor Okobi is Billiards, Snooker/ Pool Chairman, while Mr Kenneth Ufere will serve as Other Sports’ Chairman and Mr Toyin Leo- Olagbaiye as Entertainment Chairman.

In his inaugural speech, the Chairman of the General Committee, Mr Babatunde Akinleye, reiterated the commitment of the members to uphold the values and ethics of the Club.

“We are determined to take the Club to greater heights in line with the expectation of the Club Members.” He noted.
