NIM inducts 76 LASU staff

The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) on Wednesday inducted 76 non-teaching staff of the Lagos State University (LASU) as members of the institute.

Newsverge reports that the induction ceremony was organised in Lagos by the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), LASU chapter.

Mr Akinwunmi Lewis, LASU Registrar, representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, said that the initiative taken by ANUPA-LASU was unprecedented in the annals of the university’s administration.

“This is a great partnership between the town and the gown, a situation where the fulcrum, heartbeat, custodians and implementors of university policies deemed it fit to form a synergy and collaboration with the professionals in order to improve on the job.

“I commend the ANUPA-LASU for bringing this on board. LASU management is very proud and hopes that through this collaboration, there will be better service delivery,” he said.

The NIM President, Emeritus Prof. Munzali Jibril, while congratulating the new inductees, hailed the spirit exhibited by ANUPA-LASU members while the progamme was ongoing.

Jibril said aside the induction of the new members, LASU and NIM were working on other brilliant initiatives.

He said the initiatives would include capacity development, organisation of top level trainings, conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and students’ scheme.

The Jibril said that 72 of the inductees were new members while four were upgraded.

Newsverge reports that the new inductees in turn took oath of membership of the institute at the end of the event.
