NiMet predicts cloudy, sunny weather for Tuesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy conditions over the Central States of the country on Saturday, April 29 morning.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Friday, also predicted chances of localised thunderstorms over Makurdi, Lafia, Jalingo, Mambilla, Abuja, Minna, Jos and Bida later in the day.

It added that the region would have day and night temperatures of 30 to 38 and 18 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that Southern States would experience morning isolated thunderstorms over Ilorin, Shaki and Oshogbo with afternoon/evening localised thunderstorms over the coastal cities of Port Harcourt, Calabar, Lagos and Yenagoa.

It also predicted localised thunderstorms over the inland areas of Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Benin, Oshogbo, Owerri, Enugu, Awka and Abakaliki with day and night temperatures of 29 to 33 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern States will experience partly cloudy condition in the morning with isolated thunderstorms over Yelwa and Kebbi.

“In the afternoon, sunny conditions and prospects of localised thunderstorms are expected over Bauchi and Gombe with day and night temperatures of 30 to 42 and 20 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Due to the influx of moist winds far into the country, localised thunderstorms are expected over some parts of the North, Central cities as well as over some cities in the Southern part of the country.’’
