Ogun bags national quality health care award

Ogun tells residents to plant trees

The ‎Ogun State government has been honoured with the 2016 Nigeria Qual Award for its consistency and commitment at improving quality of health care delivery for people living with HIV/AIDs in the country.

Minister for Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, while presenting the award stated that the State was selected as the best out of 36 states, considering its strong leadership position in promoting the Nigeria Qual Program with qualified personnel and engaging in achieving its set goals through staff good working relationship with the implementing partners.

The Minister who was represented by the Director of Public Health in the Ministry, Dr. Evelyn Ngige, said Ogun State Hospital Ilaro, was awarded for demonstrating great passion for quality improvement, exemplified commitment and positive attitude toward the Nigeria Qual Programme.

“Ogun state Hospital Ilaro has met these criteria and has clearly demonstrated the qualities we look for in the recipient of this award,’’ he affirmed.

The Project Director of Nigerian Alliance for Health Systems Strengthening (NAHSS), Chinenye Ugoji said the award which was organised by the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with the University of Maryland, USA led NAHSS was for selected sites that had participated in at least three rounds of the Nigeria Qual exercise.
