Guber elections: Low voter turnout in South East

The operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Saturday, foiled attempt by hoodlums to snatch a ballot box at Unit 17, Ward 9, Fadeyi Street, Oshinle, Akure, Ondo State.

It was gathered that the hoodlums had carried the box and were already heading out but they were stopped by operatives of the Civil Defence, who promptly called in soldiers.

No arrest was made, as the hoodlums dumped the ballot box and took to their heels.

The vote was eventually counted and PDP won with 75 votes, followed by the APC which got 66 votes. AD got 23 votes.

In Akure generally, so far, it looks like a straight fight between the PDP and the APC.
