Organisers cancels Pele's visit to Nigeria for Legend Edition

The Winihin Jemide Series (WJS) and Youth Experience Days Africa (YEDA) 2016 legend edition with Pele has been cancelled, the organisers said in Lagos on Monday.

A statement by the organisers said that the event was cancelled due to reports of the world football legend’s ill health on Aug. 5.

The organizers had at a news conference on July 16, announced that the Pele would be in the country for a two-day programme starting on Aug. 11.

“We are sorry that we have to disappoint the many Pele fans and legend of edition supporters at this time who are looking forward to this event.

“As we pray for his speedy and full recovery, we believe that it would be inconsiderate for us to put his health at risk.

“Our ticketing platforms will be offering a full refund on all ticket purchased and a new date for the event will be announced over the course of the next few weeks.
