Osun State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon Najeem Salaam has congratulated Christian faithful on the 2016 Easter Celebration, urging Nigerians to apply the full lessons of love, sacrifice and redemption brought by Jesus Christ.

A statement by the Chairman House Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the Assembly said, this period provides Nigerians opportunity to examine themselves and seek the face of God for the prosperity of the country and peaceful co-existence.

He said, Nigerians starting from the leaders need to make sacrifice for national development, by meeting all civic responsibility.

According to him, Osun as a state and Nigeria in general is currently battling economic challenges, but the challenges are temporary and surmountable with the readiness of citizens to contribute their quota.

He maintained that the Easter season also offers Nigerians, especially Christians, a good opportunity to pray for personal renewal, the rejuvenation of the economy and prosperity in all facets of national life.

“Easter season is a unique period and a bold reminder for every citizen to go extra mile, and sacrifice for the human development and economic emancipation of the country.

“Easter season is a clarion call and a unique occasion for reflection, prayer and exercise of faith in the resurrection of Jesus, for peace, economic recovery and better future”

“The assembly rejoices with people of Osun and Nigerians as a whole, especially Christians as they celebrates Easter season, marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ”

“As we celebrate, we must be hopeful that the tough time the nation is passing through is a phase and with believe, understanding, sacrifice and prayers, there shall be light at the end of the tunnel”, Oyintiloye stressed.

The assembly then assured that its members are committed to ideal of religious tolerance, mutual respect, good brotherliness, and sacrifice towards nation-building.
