PDP victory in Taraba rerun a confirmation of Ishaku's acceptability – PDP chieftain

Governor Darius Ishaku

Nev, a retired Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration stated this on Thursday in an exclusive interview with our reporter in Jalingo.

The PDP chieftain noted that the victory of the PDP in the rerun election in the state has again demonstrated that the people of Taraba actually voted for PDP during last year’s general elections in the state.

“Taraba has been a PDP state since 1999 and will continue to be by the grace of God. This victory we got at the weekend has vindicated us before the doubting Thomases that Taraba people voted for governor Darius Ishaku and our other candidates that won elections.

“PDP is on ground in Taraba and it take time and extra ordinary force to uproot PDP in Taraba. The governor is on right track and is working assiduously to bring peace in the state to pave way for development and Tarabans are seeing results.

“It’s not all about propaganda, but it’s about serving people and doing what they want. Our governor is aware of this and is doing his best. If elections are conducted 20 times in Taraba, PDP will still win, because we know it’s not about Party alphabets, but it’s about people,” he said.

He congratulated the governor over his recent victory at the Supreme Court and all the legislators who won their rerun elections and urged them to put the past behind them and work to better the living standard of all irrespective of party affiliations.

Nev enjoined those in opposition to consider the interest and development of Taraba above their personal interest and work with the governor to have a Taraba that all would be proud of, saying as an architect, Ishaku was poised to redesign Taraba and bring development to the state.
