Sales rep docked over alleged stealing of employer’s N1.3m

Man, 28, docked over alleged theft of car engine, gear

A 44-year-old sales representative, Emmanuel Adedoyin, who allegedly stole his employer ‘s N1.3 million, was on Thursday charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.

Adedoyin, who resides at Ayobo, a suburb of Lagos, is being tried for stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the offence was committed in May, 2016 at Citibuy Venture, Shomolu, in Lagos.

Inuoha said that the accused failed to remit proceeds of the sales into the company’s account.

“It was when an auditor came to audit the account that the money was discovered to be missing,” he said.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Adedoyin, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi, granted the accused bail of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Osunsanmi adjourned the case to March 27 for mention.
