Facebook charged with racial discrimination in targeted housing ads

Prosecutors said on Friday they received a complete film clip from Facebook showing the alleged rape of a Swedish woman that was broadcast live earlier in January.

“Without going into details, I can at least say that it strengthens the case.

“The trial opened a week ago, two of the men aged 18 and 21 were charged with rape.

“If convicted, they should should be deported to Afghanistan and not allowed re-entry to Sweden for 15 years,” prosecutor Magnus Berggren told the Uppsala district court, north of Stockholm.

A 24-year-old Swedish national was charged with being an accessory to rape and for slander as he filmed the attack with a phone and made derogatory statements about the victim.

The three who denied the charges were arrested after police were alerted to the Jan. 22 crime that was filmed and livestreamed for a private group on Facebook.

The court has ordered that the proceedings be held behind closed doors.

Clips of the attack and statements from eight witnesses who saw “the whole incident or part of it” were part of the original evidence.

The prosecution said the woman, in her 30s, had been in an “extremely vulnerable” position as she was attacked while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Berggren said that the development would likely mean that the trial has to be extended.
