V-C of FUT Minna pledges to improve staff school

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Prof. Musbau Akanji has pledged to improve teaching and learning at the university’s staff school.

Akanji made the pledge when he met with the head teacher of the school, Mrs Elizabeth Soe-Shinni in his office on Thursday as part of the activities marking its three decades of existence.

A statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs Lydia Legbu quoted the vice-chancellor as saying that the problems of the school would receive adequate attention.

Akanji congratulated the management, staff and pupils of the school for contributing their quota to the educational development of the state and Nigeria at large in the last 30 years.

According to him, the school has always made the university community proud in all its academic and extra curricula activities.

Responding, the head teacher appealed to the university management to assist the school in the area of regular water supply, procurement of a school bus and recruitment of more personnel.

Soe-Shinni lauded successive administrations for the maximum support being rendered toward the growth and development of the staff school in the last 30 years.

She expressed delight that some of the school’s products were now professionals of repute in various fields of endeavour.

The University Staff School started in Jan. 28, 1987 with the motto “Excellence is Our Goal”.
