The Osun State House of Assembly on Sunday urged Nigerians to celebrate this year’s Eid-il-Kabir with fervent hope, sense of gratitude to God and prayers  for the governments at the National and state levels to turn around the economy of the country.

In its Eid-il-Kabir congratulatory message, signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the Assembly said, the economic situation, currently facing the nation require all supports needed in the administration’s strive towards rapidly overcoming its challenges.

Osun Assembly submitted that great individuals as well as nations have stories of bumpy roads in their journey to greatness, stressing that the resilient and indomitable spirit of Nigerians, and sacrifice by all, would pave the way for possibilities.

Noting that it was understandable that the economic situation in the country has taken tolls on virtually every Nigerian, it said the efforts, to turn things around should inspire hope and courage in the people.

According to the statement, it was a public knowledge that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has designed economic strategy that would eventually make Nigeria better than what it was.

The parliament which commended Nigerians, especially, the people of  Osun for their perseverance and patience in the face of economic crunch,  said, more patience and sacrifice are required by all.

It called on the people to exhibit highest ideal of kindness, generosity and love especially to the under-privileged as they celebrate the Eid-il-Kabir.

It cited that the good fight given to Boko Haram insurgents after all hopes were lost, was enough to give confidence in the ability of the present government to make things work again.

Also charging the present Federal Government to meticulously monitor and review its economic strategy in such a way  that it would quickly address the pains that Nigerians are going through, the assembly said, such strategy would bring succor to the lives of the citizenry.

“It is understandable that Nigerian are going through very hard time, owing to the poor economic situation and this has been causing a lot of pains.

“These pains cannot be unconnected with depreciation in the price of naira, drop in the oil prices, scarcity of money in circulation and the corruption that had affected all the fabrics of our economy which the present government is now struggling to fight.

“On the other hand, it is understandable that the government led by President Buhari is working hard to turn things around.

“Therefore, while the citizenry should have more patience, tolerance, endurance, patriotic and greater willingness to make personal sacrifices for the good of all, the government must also strive towards rapidly overcoming  economic and developmental challenges in the nation”, it said.

Congratulating Muslims on the celebration of the festival, he urged all to be ready to make sacrifice in line with the teaching of  Prophet Muhammed which sacrifice, faith and obedience informed the Eid-il-Kabir.
