NIDO Americas Commends Osinbajo for Signing Diaspora Commission Bill

NIDO Americas has commended Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for signing Nigerian Diaspora Commission Bill into law.

In a press statement made availbale to newsmen from Washington DC, the NIDO America’s Chairman, Continental Board of Trustees NIDO Americas, Mr Samuel Adewusi, stated that it appreciates all stakeholders who worked in background and out in the forefront to make the NIDCOM Bill a possibility.

‘’We also recognize and thank all stakeholders who worked in the background and out in the forefront to make the NIDCOM Bill possible. Our special thanks to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa who started the ball rolling in the 7th NASS.

We also recognize all Leadership of the 8th NASS and legislators, who picked up the baton after the request by the NIDO Worldwide Leadership in February 2017’’.

The organization also appreciated Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, Hon. Emerhor, Delta State, the bill sponsor in the 8th NASS, Senator Rose Okoh, Chairman Senate Committee on Diaspora, Hon. Rita Orji, Chairman House Committee on Diaspora, and others ‘’who championed the cause of the Nigerian Diaspora’’.

‘’We cannot over-emphasize the role of the previous NIDO Leadership who worked hard to bring this issue to the front-burner, and the entire members of other Diaspora organizations who have faith in the current leadership and supported us until the passage of the NIDCOM Bill’’.

He harped that the passage of the bill was just the beginning, saying: ‘’we all have lots of work to do to actualize the NIDCOM Bill and make it to into an viable instrument that will transform the Diaspora brain and financial power into a formidable tool to develop Nigeria’’.
