ASCSN urges FG to fastrack the passage of new minimum wage into law

The association of senior civil servants of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, has raised it voice once again on the need for speedy passage of the tripartite committee agreed N30,000 new minimum wage into law to ease the financial burden and suffering of it members.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the unon’s Oyo State chapter chairman, comrade Balogun Babatunde. According to him, the federal government is deliberately delaying the passage of the tripartite committee agreed N30, 000 into law in other not to begin the implementation early enough.

‘’We are aware of the delay tactics of this government on issues that concern it’s workforce and the entire toiling masses that have been subjected to unbearable suffering and state of hopelessness by the Buhari led All Progressives Congress national government in Nigeria’’, the statement read in part.

Balogun said the implementation of the tripartite committee’s N30,000 recommendation will have to be back-dated to September, because that was the timeline the federal government gave the tripartite committee at the point of its inauguration in November, 2017.

Balogun therefore urged the government to restore the hope and confidence of the workers and the masses at large by speedily passing the N30,000 new minimum wage regime into law and begin it implementation without any further delay.
