Access Bank Marathon: FRSC restricts movement of articulated vehicles in Lagos

As preparations for the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon gathers momentum, over 2,000 North Americans and 4,000 Europeans has so far registered for the epoch event.

Race Consultant, Bukola Olopade, disclosed this at a Media Seminar at the Sports Bar of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, saying that the state is ready for another successful event.

“We have over 2,000 North Americans and 4,000 from European countries that have so far registered. I can say that it is the biggest one day tourist attraction in Nigeria.

“All we want to do now is to improve on the lapses recorded in the last edition because we have read the reports of the athletes representatives.

“We have to take the criticism with its objectives because we want to grow, I have no doubt that we are on the way to organising the best marathon since we started.

“We have to improve ourselves by attending the just-concluded Dubai Marathon to see how they organised it to improve on our own,” he said.

Our correspondent reports that the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon will take place on Saturday, Feb. 2

Previous winners of the road race include Abraham Kiptum, who won the maiden 2016 edition, while Ethiopian Halima Kayo won the women race.

In 2017, Abraham Kiptum defended the title while Rodah Tanuyi won the women race.

Abraham Kiprotich won the race in 2018, while Ethiopian Herpha Guta won the women race.
