60yr-old man docked for trespassing into Obasanjo farm, gets N500,000 bail

A 60-year-old man, Ibrahim Ibuoye, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly conducting himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by forcefully entered into the Obasanjo Farms premises.

Ibuoye, whose address is not provided, is facing a four-count charge of breach of peace, forceful entering, damages and conspiracy.

The prosecutor, Insp. Rosemary Samson told the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offences on Aug. 26 at Obasanjo Farm Limited, Ota.

Samson said that the defendant and his accomplices conspired to conduct themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by forcefully entering into the farm with offensive weapons.

She also alleged that the defendant damaged a Honda Accord car with registration number – LSD 655 EV – belonging to one Kazeem Ajiboye.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened sections 81, 390(9), 451 and 517 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs B. S. Abdulsalam, granted the defendant N500,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

Abdulsalam ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.

She further directed that the sureties should also have landed property within the jurisdiction of the court as part of the bail conditions.

The case was adjourned until Sept. 14 and Sept. 16 for hearing.
