Bayelsa poll: PDP in early lead as INEC continues collation Monday

The governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Seriake Dickson, is leading with 81, 929 votes over 56, 514 votes of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Timipre Sylva.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the collation of the election results to 10:00am on Monday.

 

THE RESULTS

 

KOLOKUMA/OPOKUMA LGA

APC – 6,896

PDP – 7619                                                         – Winner

 

 

YENAGOA LGA

APC – 14,563

PDP – 24,258                                                       – Winner

Valid votes – 40,041, total votes cast – 41,751.

The INEC cancelled 16 polling units due to violence and the APC agent disagrees with results the LGA.

 

 

SAGBAMA LGA

APC – 5,382

PDP – 28,934                                                       – Winner

Registered voters                            – 84,550

Accredited Voters                           – 36,892

Total valid votes – 34,921; rejected votes – 726; total votes cast – 35,647. Cancellations in six polling units (ward 7).

The Chief returning officer, Mr Dennis Otiotio, said there were issues of irregularities in Sagbama LGA will be documented.

 

 

BRASS LGA

APC – 21,755                                                       – Winner

PDP – 6,516

Registered voters                            – 55,923

Accredited voters                            – 30,397

Total valid votes – 28,616; rejected votes – 592; total votes cast – 29,208.

There were over voting in six polling units in Brass, with total number of 1,983 registered voters.

 

 

EKEREMO LGA

APC – 7,918

PDP – 14,602                                                       – Winner

Registered Voters                           – 82,782

Accredited Voters                           – 24,667

There were cancellation of votes in eight wards due to snatching of ballot boxes and other irregularities.
