We’ve beefed up SuperSand Eagles with new players ahead COPA Lagos, coach says

The Beach Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire emerged as Copa Lagos 2015 beach soccer tournament champions after defeating England 6-4 on Sunday.

It was the third win for the Elephants, the only undefeated side in this year’s tournament, as they retained their title in impressive fashion.

England ended the tournament bottom of the four-team table in their maiden appearance at Lagos’ biggest beach soccer event.

The Ivory Coast already had two wins in two matches after defeating Lebanon and Nigeria and they wanted to finish Copa Lagos with the maximum nine points.

England were determined in each match and though they were not able to capitalize on all their attempts, they were still a dangerous team.

In other games played on the final day, Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles defeated Lebanon 7-4 which was enough to earn them second place with two wins from three matches.

In the club challenge, Kano Pillars lost by 3-8 to Shooting Stars while FC Barcelona defeated Pespi Football Academy 9-2.
