Popular Nigerian content creators, Peller and Jarvis, have announced that they are expecting their first child together.

The couple made the announcement in an Instagram post on Thursday, sharing pictures of the baby bump.

The photographs showed the couple dressed in matching white outfits, posing together against an ocean backdrop on a beach.

They also revealed that their journey has been filled with laughter, tears, prayers and growth, adding that God has continued to write their story through it all.

Jarvis wrote: “From two people who once had no idea where this journey would take us… to husband and wife, and now soon to be parents.

“A little piece of our love is coming into this world. Our greatest blessing. Our answered prayer.”

The Tik Tok stars, who got married in a civil ceremony in Lagos on July 29, faced public scrutiny shortly after as fans claimed Jarvis was already pregnant, pointing out changes in her appearance.

The young couple, however, dismissed the rumours, claiming her weight gain was linked to late-night meals.

Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo, on Tuesday unveiled an entertainment hub, a flim and media production facility in Oregun, Lagos.

The facility, which is named ‘Euphoria 360 Hub’, was commissioned by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, at a ceremony which was attended by actors, filmmakers, content creators and other entertainment industry stakeholders.

The hub serves as the headquarters of Adebayo’s media production company, Euphoria360 Media Ltd and is designed to provide production, post-production, distribution and training services for creatives.

The facility is equipped for cinema-grade film production, events, music videos and other content creation, alongside sound and post-production services.

Adebayo said the hub would provide services for video editing, motion graphics, sound design and mixing and colour grading.

He added that the centre would also provide services for visual effects, content distribution, equipment rentals, advertising, public relations and media consultancy.

“ The hub also houses the Euphoria360 Film Academy which is expected to provide training, workshops, masterclasses, internships and networking opportunities for emerging filmmakers and other creative professionals.

“The commissioning represents the realisation of a dream that began as a vision and the development is a significant milestone in my journey as an actor, filmmaker and entrepreneur.

“My gratitude goes out to my family, colleagues and supporters who have contributed to the realisation of the project” he said.

Adebayo Salami, father of the filmmaker and a veteran of Yoruba cinema, expressed his pride in his son’s achievement.

“I am deeply proud of my son and what he has achieved with this project. Seeing him reach this stage is an emotional and fulfilling moment for me as a father.

“This achievement is a testament to his hard work, dedication and passion for the creative industry” he said.

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Ruth Kadiri, has urged National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to intensify enforcement against suspected fake and substandard products in Nigeria.

It was reported that the actress made the call in a video message shared on her official Instagram account, @ruthkadiri on Monday.

She expressed concern over the safety of food, drinks, medicines, cosmetics and other household products available in the Nigerian markets.

She said: “Dear Nigerians, I’m speaking to you today with a heavy heart and deep concern about the circulation of fake products in our country today.”

“Every day, people buy food, drinks, medicine, cosmetics, and household products, believing that they are safe.

“But sadly, they are poorly produced, contaminated, harmful and most often, fake.”

The actress also recounted a personal experience involving garlic which, according to her, changed colour after she blended it.

“I bought garlic, blended it, went upstairs and came back to find my garlic had turned green. A whole lot of other people have their own experiences.”

Kadiri said she was particularly concerned about packaged drinks purchased for children, saying she was afraid of their possible effects.

“I’m usually afraid of buying already-packed drinks for my kids because I’m scared of what the outcome of that drink might be.

“Most of those products are created and produced in our country by our people, destroying the lives and health of our people, regardless of what they have to lose, as long as they make money.”

Kadiri urged Nigerians, particularly parents and guardians, to check expiry dates and NAFDAC registration numbers before purchasing regulated products.

“To parents, guardians, please pay attention to expiry dates. Pay attention to NAFDAC numbers. NAFDAC, please pay attention to the lives of Nigerians.

“Lots and lots of people are sick and are not getting better because the cost of fake products, the cost of fake medicine, is much more than we can ever ask or think,” she said.

Kadiri’s call came amid intensified efforts by NAFDAC to curb counterfeit and substandard products across the country.

She also called for collective action from consumers and regulatory authorities, urging Nigerians to report products suspected to be fake, unsafe or substandard.

In September, NAFDAC said it had secured 64 convictions for counterfeiting between June 2025 and June 2026, with offenders sentenced to between one and seven years’ imprisonment.

The agency also said it had destroyed regulated products worth more than N1.5 trillion during coordinated enforcement operations.

Mixed reactions have continued to trail the emergence of Temitope Chigbue a.k.a Temi Nkem as winner of the 11th season of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show.

Temi was crowned winner of the “Show Ya Sef” edition at the grand finale on Sunday, defeating Aikou, who emerged first runner-up, on Sunday in a closely contested final vote.

The official results showed that Temi pulled 25.87 per cent of the votes, while Aikou secured 23.68 per cent, giving Temi a 2.19 percentage-point margin.

Sheba finished as second runner-up with 9.80 per cent, while the remaining finalists shared the other votes.

The victory made Temi the fifth female winner in the history of BBNaija, after a 70-day competition that began with 24 housemates and featured weekly tasks, Head of House games, nominations and several twists.

The season was also notable for recording two disqualifications and a voluntary exit, making it the first BBNaija season to record all three developments in one edition.

Temi’s victory earned her a prize package valued at N160 million, comprising N90 million in cash, a brand-new SUV and other sponsored prizes.

Following the announcement, fans took to social media to express contrasting views, with some congratulating Temi while others questioned the outcome and argued that Aikou deserved the crown.

One user, @iamZephyr01, said Aikou would have made a better winner, arguing that Temi did not deserve the win in comparison with him.

The user also blamed Aikou’s supporters for what was described as an ineffective voting strategy, saying, “you guys gave Aikou the gambit and spoiled his game.”

Similarly, @brenda_odi23217 described Aikou as her preferred winner, saying he deserved the prize more than Temi.

“Nigerians y’all better do better next year. Vote for the ones that truly deserve the money,” she wrote.

Another user, @Fazemay05, criticised the outcome, saying Nigerians continued to allow “fake/razz people” to win the reality show.

Questioning the show’s contribution to Nigeria, @ezekieledoso wrote: “So @BBNaija you carried someone from the UK to come and carry N160M worth of prizes in Naija, so how is this show supposed to support the local citizens? This is the last time I’ll watch or subscribe for this rubbish.”

The comment reflected a separate line of criticism over Temi’s residency in the United Kingdom and whether the show should prioritise contestants who are resident in Nigeria.

However, the post did not establish that Temi was ineligible to participate or that her victory breached any rule.

Some fans, however, celebrated Temi’s victory explaining that the show was to entertain the viewers and not for charitable purposes.

@Samue606 posted “Winner” alongside a picture of Temi holding the N90 million winner’s cheque, while @lovezone234 congratulated her.

The voting process also came under scrutiny, with @Jubeeton calling for improvements to prevent contestants or their supporters from allegedly organising groups to influence voting.

“I don’t know how… But you guys should improve in that voting aspect, so that someone inside cannot pay people to organise groups to vote for them,” the user wrote.

Other reactions were critical of Temi’s victory, with @mrseun alleging that she had “stolen” the win. The allegation was presented as the user’s opinion, and no evidence was provided to support it.

Meanwhile, @slaychichi7 made reference to Temi’s return to Nigeria, saying she came back “to take the money and go back.”

In spite of the criticism, @lovezone234 wrote, “Chakam. Congratulations Temi Nkem,” while other supporters shared celebratory posts following her victory.

The divided reactions followed one of the closest finishes of the season, with only 2.19 percentage points separating Temi and Aikou in the final vote.

Nkem emerged winner of the “Show Ya Sef” edition during the grand finale of the reality show on Sunday.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie,  has said that he is currently finding it difficult  to walk and has been experiencing swelling in different parts of his body.

He  made the disclosure while visiting ailing Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra, Ghana, on Thursday.

Edochie, who is in Ghana to launch the Pete Edochie Legacy Project, an initiative celebrating his contribution to African cinema and storytelling, visited Armah at his home.

A video of the visit online  showed Edochie praying with Armah and offering him financial support.

Speaking about his own health, the veteran actor said  he  been  experiencing difficulty in  walking and swelling in parts of his body.

“Sitting down here, I am not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover.

“Sometimes I wake up and parts of my body have swollen up. After some time, they go down again. My hand is swollen,” he added.

The veteran actor, however, remained hopeful of recovering despite his current physical challenges, saying he relied on God and prayed not to become a burden to those around him.

“I just keep asking God, you are the author of life. Whenever you feel it is time for me to go, just take me. Don’t let me bother the people who are around me,” he said.

Edochie also expressed optimism about Armah’s recovery, saying, “Emma, I believe that you will recover someday, by the grace of God”.

The comments have generated concern among fans, with many expressing sympathy and praying for the veteran actor.

Edochie’s visit to Armah comes against the background of the latter’s prolonged absence from active screen work due to health challenges.

The National Theatre says its ‘Circus in Motion,’ a contemporary circus can create new career opportunities for Nigerian performers while promoting wider African cultural exchanges and strengthening professional links among artists across the continent.

The General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the theatre, Tola Akerele, said this at a media briefing ahead of the festival, on Friday in Lagos.

It was reported that Circus in Motion, scheduled for Oct. 3 and 4, is organised by the National Theatre and sponsored by the European Union.

According to Akerele, the Circus in Motion is the first-ever contemporary circus festival in West Africa.

She said the family-oriented event will offer free entry and feature live performances, youth and community outreach, and professional development activities.

She added that unlike traditional circus, commonly associated with animals, contemporary circus focused on human bodies through acrobatics, movement, dance and aerial performance.

She said Nigeria already possessed physical performance traditions that could provide a foundation for developing contemporary circus.

“It’s a career path actually. You can actually become a circus performer and you can earn and survive,” she said.

Akerele said the initiative would combine Nigerian traditions with international techniques rather than reproduce European circus models.

She said Nigerian heritage could provide original stories for the global circus stage.

“We want to do what is us,” she said.

She said the festival would also encourage African artists and companies to collaborate, tour and build opportunities within the continent.

Akerele said longer training exchanges would be desirable in future, including opportunities for Nigerian performers to spend more time training with practitioners from other countries.

An Ivorian cultural entrepreneur, Chantal Djedje, said African traditional dances and physical movements already contained elements associated with circus.

Djedje said the festival would also recognise African artistic practices that had often been described differently instead of circus.

Djedje cited circus initiatives in Guinea and South Africa as examples of how training could connect young people, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with professional performance opportunities.

It was reported that circus practitioners from Nigeria, Ethiopia, Senegal and Switzerland are collaborating to exchange skills, develop performances and strengthen professional links among African artists.

The collaboration includes Fekat Circus from Ethiopia, SenCirk from Senegal, Nigerian practitioners and Swiss circus artist Jessica Arpin.

Also, Arpin said that the inclusive nature of circus, presented it as a space for different kinds of bodies and sizes rather than a competition based on physical conformity.

Sanuel Udoh, Founder and Artistic Director of Slum Circus,l, said some Nigerian performers already possessed skills such as juggling, contortion and acrobatics without knowing their professional definitions or potential career value.

He said the ongoing training ahead of the circus was more of a mentorship programme than a conventional masterclass.

Udoh said the mentorship was helping performers recognise their abilities and see possibilities for developing them professionally.

He said outreach programmes had also taken the initiative to schools in Oworonshoki and Bariga, where students were introduced to the possibility of developing physical skills into creative careers.

Udoh said the immediate focus was helping Nigerian performers recognise and develop abilities they already possess.

“The artistes, they have this act in them but they don’t know what it is,” he said.

Reality TV personality, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has defeated Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, in the first female celebrity boxing bout organised under Balmoral Promotions’ “Chaos in the Ring” series.

Phyna stopped Nkechi  in the fourth and final round of the contest held on Thursday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The bout formed part of Balmoral Promotions’ Independence Day event, which brought together entertainment personalities and professional boxers.

Phyna used her speed and movement to evade Nkechi Blessing’s attacks in the early rounds, while the actress pressed forward in search of close-range exchanges.

The referee stopped the contest after Nkechi Blessing was unable to continue.

Phyna received N50 million, a championship belt and a car as prizes for winning the bout.

Phyna who reacting to her win said: “October 2nd will forever be a special date in my life.

Today marks the anniversary of the day I won BBN, and now, years later, I’m celebrating another historic victory becoming the first female boxer to step into this ring and win this fight.

From reality TV to the boxing ring, I’ve always been willing to challenge myself, break barriers and prove that there is so much more to Phyna than what people see.

Phyna, who won the seventh season of the Big Brother Naija reality television show in 2022, later expressed interest in pursuing boxing beyond the celebrity contest.

Family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries on Friday, gathered for the funeral service of veteran actor, Olu Jacobs.

The service which happened at This Present House in Lekki Phase I, Lagos, celebrated the life and legacy of the late actor, who died on Sept. 16, 2026, at the age of 84.

The funeral service also attracted members of the entertainment industry who gathered to pay their final respects to the late thespian.

Dare Art Alade, entertainment entrepreneur, performed his hit song, ‘Pray for Me’ which had featured Jacobs and his wife, Joke Silva in the music video.

Olugbenga Jacobs, son of the late actor, presented his father’s biography as part of activities marking the funeral.

Tony Rapu, Head Pastor of the church, delivered a sermon reflecting on Jacobs’ life, career and contributions to the entertainment industry.

Also, pastors at the service offered prayers for the family, asking God to comfort and strengthen them during the period of mourning.

Olusoji Jacobs, another son of the deceased, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating guests, colleagues and well-wishers for their support and presence.

Dignitaries at the service were Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat; First Lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun amongst several others.

It was reported that Jacobs, popularly known as “The Lion of Lufodo”, enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades across theatre, television and film.

He was married to Joke Silva, with whom he co-founded the Lufodo Group and Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts.

His funeral service followed a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos Island, where colleagues and admirers celebrated his contributions to Nigerian entertainment.

The Nigeria Fashion week 2026, will debuts in Abuja between Oct. 1 and 4, with more than 40 Nigerian and international designers scheduled to showcase their works.

Chief Executive Officer of the event, Mr Lexy Mojo-Eyes, disclosed this in an interview with our reporter Abuja on Tuesday.

Mojo-Eyes said the four-day event would be held at the Soul Lounge Resort, Jahi, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66 Independence Day.

He said the decision to move the event from Lagos to Abuja was part of efforts to provide designers with a wider platform to showcase their creativity.

“The Nigeria Fashion Week 2026 is coming to Abuja for the first time, moving away from Lagos.

“It will give Nigerian designers an opportunity to reinvent themselves, discover themselves and excel, while showing the world what they can do in the fashion ecosystem.

“It will also welcome international designers, and this year altogether, we have over 40 designers showcasing both Nigerian and international designs,” he said.

He explained that the event would open on Oct. 1 with a welcome cocktail organised in collaboration with the Africa Business Club.

According to him, the official opening will take place on Oct. 2 and will be co-hosted by the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy.

Mojo-Eyes said three runway shows would be held daily during the first two days, featuring different designers at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

“The runway show is taking place at Soul Lounge Resort in Jahi, so the first two days you will have all the runway shows, three shows each day.”

He said fashion entrepreneurs would also exhibit their products alongside the runway shows during the first two days.

Mojo-Eyes said that the final day would focus on strengthening the business side of the fashion industry through the Nigeria Fashion Entrepreneurial Forum.

“This year, what is different from the previous year is that we will be stepping up the game.

“It is not just the showcase or the creativity, but to turn creativity into entrepreneurship, into business. That is what we are trying to do,” he said.

He added that the forum, scheduled for Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., would bring together policymakers, financial institutions, fashion entrepreneurs and international buyers.

“We are going to have policymakers in the house from government and financial institutions as well as fashion entrepreneurs.

“We are also going to have buyers and international buyers that are going to be in the house to see how creativity can be turned into serious business,” he also said.

The CEO said the event would conclude on Oct. 4 with the Nigeria Fashion Awards and Gala Fashion Night at 6 p.m.

According to him, the awards will recognise various stakeholders who had contributed to the growth and development of Nigeria’s fashion industry.

Mojo-Eyes emphasised that the 2026 edition was designed to combine fashion creativity with entrepreneurship, investment and opportunities for designers to access wider markets.
