Emir appeals to Almakura for electricity in Loko Dev. Area

Al-Makura begins senatorial campaign, drums support for Buhari, others

Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed-Sabo, the Emir of Loko, Nasarawa State, has appealed to Gov. Tanko Almakura to provide electricity in Loko Development Area to boost the socio-economic activities in the area.

Ahmed-Sabo made the appeal on Monday in an interview with our reporter in his palace in Loko, Nasarawa State.

He said that the provision of electricity and other infrastructural facilities to the area would help to reduce unemployment, youth restiveness and improve the standard of living of the people for the overall development of the State.

“As we are all aware, the presence of electricity and other infrastructural facilities in any community will help to fight poverty, unemployment and youth restiveness which will discourage rural-urban migration.

“It is in view of this that I want to appeal to his Excellency, Gov. Tanko Almakura to provide this area with electricity; the government can extend electricity from Mararaba Development Area to this area to boost the socio-economic activities of the people of this area,” he said.

The traditional ruler commended Almakura for his developmental strides across the state and called for its sustenance.

He also urged Nigerians to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, live in peace and tolerate one another to achieve speedy development in the country.

“As custodian of culture and peace, it is our role to advise our subjects and other Nigerians on the need to live in peace and tolerate each other.

“Peace is priceless, it is non-negotiable and the necessary requirement for the development of any nation or society as no society can achieve meaningful progress without peace.

“No society or nation can achieve meaningful development in an atmosphere of rancour and confusion, hence the need for Nigerians to embrace peace at all times,’’ Sabo said.

The monarch urged his subjects and the people of the state to support Almakura’s administration to enable him succeed in the task ahead of him.
