Students are of MATE Comprehensive High School, Lagos. The set comprised of students from year one through year six. The trip take-off point of course was one of the computerized classes of the school. The destination surprisingly was under water! The principal, Vice Principal and also some members of staff participated with the students.

“I am extremely delighted to have my school part of this history, it will forever be green in the hearts of the management, staff and students of the school says the principal, Mrs Tope Oshinaike. “I want to advice all levels of education to take advantage of this technology as it brings to live what the students have been taught in their various class rooms,” she enthused.

Some of the students interviewed also shared their delight. A year six student Adetuyi Peter said “I have never understood aquatic animals well like i did today, i could even hear the sharks and turtles breathing!” another student Janet Obana said, “It all felt real. I saw lots of loop holes in the theoretical part of the life underwater! So many things happening under-water were never taught in class! It actually felt so real, I could almost touch those sharks and little fishes.” two junior school students Femi Olorunnipa and Jesutofunmi Grace both agreed that they actually felt like they were diving in the water and urged the VR Nigeria team to do this to all their school subjects to make learning easier understood.

Responding to the vote of thanks, the founder of Virtual Reality Nigeria, Engr Eyitayo Alimi Said she is happy at the response of the pupils and the entire school to the technology, as it is a highly beneficial tool.

Alimi also said, “VR Nigeria is using Confucius model to drive teaching and learning – I SEE AND I FORGET, I HEAR AND I REMEMBER I DO AND I UNDERSTAND! The Goal is to get the VR learning kith in the hands of every African child to make teaching and learning fun and easy.”
