A combined team of security officials has arrested four young men while reportedly attempting to snatch ballot boxes at the Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje local government.

The men who arrested and handcuffed have been taken away in a police patrol vehicle to the Divisional Police Office in Igbokoda.

The suspects were between the ages of 25 and 30.

NEWSVERGE reports that the operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) also foiled attempt by hoodlums to snatch a ballot box at Unit 17, Ward 9, Fadeyi Street, Oshinle, Akure, Ondo State.

The hoodlums had carried the box and were already heading out but they were stopped by operatives of the Civil Defence, who promptly called in soldiers.

No arrest was made, as the hoodlums dumped the ballot box and took to their heels.
