Ishaku mourns Maitama Sule, describe his death as a national loss
Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state yesterday mourned the death of the elder statesman, Alhaji Maitama Sule who passed on Monday afternoon.

Ishaku who was speaking during the flag off of distribution of equipment, hospital consumables and drugs to primary health care facilities in the state expressed shock over the death of the elder statesman, describing his death as a national loss.
“It’s a sad news. We have lost an outstanding Nigerian, with high sense of national history. An intelligent and great statesman who was always on the side of truth.
“We met four weeks ago and our interaction became a history class kind of interaction as he went down Memory Lane telling us history of events in the 60s,  70s and 80s with dates. He will be greatly missed,” he said.
The governor who maintained that healthcare delivery remains one of the cardinal objective of his administration pledged to ensure quality and affordable healthcare delivery for all.
“Health is on the priority list of my Rescue Mission and it will continue to receive a boost because without health,  life becomes meaningless.
“My administration cannot afford to toy with the health of the people and shall continue to be resolute to ensure  our people are emancipated from the shackles of diseases and backwardness,” he said.
Earlier,  Commissioner for Health, Dr. Innocent Vakai thanked the governor for the support and attention given to the health sector.
The Commissioner called for the judicial use of the equipment, to enhance the healthcare delivery for people at the grassroots.
