Investigation by NEWSVERGE on Thursday gathered that insurance companies in Nigeria are in a rush to tap into MTN’s Automation Service.

The innovation aims to eliminate the manual processes involved in capturing field data as well as provide insurance managers real-time visibility of field activities and spur faster business decision-making and planning.

The new service will increase efficiency and cut costs by providing access to cutting-edge technology without the expense of owning or maintaining ICT infrastructure.

Without doubt, the potential for growth with the new service is huge and many insurance companies have already partnered with MTN to deliver the service but the number of underwriters that have tapped into this new opportunity could not be ascertained as at the time of filing the report.

Head of IT, Niger Insurance Plc, Kunle Kuponiyi, lauded the initiative having partnered recently with the telecommunications on the service.

At the unveiling of the product in Lagos, Corporate Service Executive, Amina Oyagbola, said that the new service would lead to exponential growth in the industry by increasing efficiency and saving costs.

“This solution will grant access to cutting-edge enterprise technology without the cost burden of owning or maintaining ICT infrastructure. The potential for growth is so huge that many insurance companies have already partnered with MTN to deliver the service,” Oyagbola added.

Also, General Manager, Enterprise Marketing, Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, said: “We are very proud to support insurance companies to drive the adoption of insurance services in Nigeria and we believe that this industry-specific service is a practical way to show our support. We aim to help insurance companies achieve increased collaboration, cost reduction, greater staff productivity and increased profitability.”
