										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ogun State Government says its free education policy is open to all people irrespective of age, religion, ethnicity or gender equality.<span id="more-9714"></span></p>
<p>The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota made the assertion at the graduation ceremony of students of Non-formal Education programmes, held at the Baptist College, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.</p>
<p>Mrs. Mujota, in a statement signed by the Ministry&#8217;s Spoke Person, Mr. Elijah Udofia, described literacy as ability to read, write, calculate and communicate fluently within the society, added that adult education is a component part of the free education policy of the Government, calling on those yet to benefit from the programme to do so as there was no limitation.</p>
<p>She congratulated beneficiaries of the basic and vocational programme for completing their studies, charging them to contribute their quota to the socio-economic development of the State.</p>
<p>“I want to congratulate you on the successful completion of your programme, the State Government has high hope in you by participating in this programme, it is never too late to study. Government expects you to contribute to the economy of this state “She added.</p>
<p>Also speaking, the Director of Education, Ogun State Agency for Mass Education, Mrs. Oso Lukoya, said Government has successfully reactivated moribund skill Acquisition / women Education centres in Sagamu, Obafemi Owode, Odeda and Ado-Odo / Ota Local Government Areas while centre – based Management Committee on Mass Literacy Programme has been inaugurated.</p>
<p>In his goodwill message, Dr. Ayo Akinsanya of the Department of Adult Education, Tai Solarin University of Education, posited that since white collar jobs were no longer available for the increasing population, efforts should be geared towards educating people in the technical and vocational fields.</p>
<p>Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of certificates to graduands.</p>

<p>The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, made this assertion while playing host to some prospective investors from Brazil, at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the State capital.</p>
<p>Ashiru said various investors have been signifying interest to invest in the State, saying that the first ethanol factory in Nigeria was commissioned last year in State, which presently producing 5,000 tons of ethanol per year through uses of cassava.</p>
<p>He assured the prospective investors of 40 million customers&#8217; patronage across State if the company start operation, adding that some companies using ethanol were situated in State, which includes gin companies, brewery, pharmaceutical and many others.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are assuring you of full support in establishing your company here, we have over 58 companies in Ogun State, the State is an industrial hub and investment destination of choice which many investors show interest to establish and most of the companies deals with ethanol, that&#8217;s why we are assuring of 90 percent patronage from other company&#8221;, the Commissioner said.</p>
<p>The Commissioner said the genuineness of any investors who wish to situate it&#8217;s company in the State would determine how far the State Government would work hard to support their programmes and investment drive.</p>
<p>Also Speaking, the leader of the Team, Bigtee Commercial Investment Ltd and Vice President of Tec Agro Brasil, Mr. Gerson Zilio, said the choice of Ogun State was based on the vertile land, which contain of lime stone that vast grow of sugar cane for the production of various kind of sugar and ethanol in the State attract the company.</p>
<p>He said the Company has the capacity to produce 245 thousand tons of ethanol, sugar per year, saying that if a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is reached, indigenous labour would be used for the construction of the Company.</p>
<p>Gerson said the Company would employ more than 2,500 indigene of the State for direct employment and 3,500 indirect employment opportunities, emphasising that the Company had the capacity to produce different kind of sugars and ethanol for the Country through extraction from sugar cane.</p>
<p>&#8220;This will be an opportunity for the unemployed graduates in the State as the establishment of the company will add more value to the State, increase its IGR and also create employment opportunities for our teeming youths&#8221;, Gerson said.</p>
<p>He appreciated the State Government for the warm reception and accorded given to them, he later lauded the on-going infrastructural development across the State as the State mark the 40 years of existence.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Olajide Ojuko has said that traditional rulers in the State are partner in progress in the &#8220;Mission to Rebuild&#8221; the State.<span id="more-4224"></span></p>
<p>Chief Ojuko made this assertion during a courtesy visit to the Egba Traditional Council Meeting, held at Ake Palace, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, the Commissioner said the purpose of the visit was to identify with traditional rulers, strengthen relationship between them and government as well as to know challenges they are facing in their respective domains.</p>
<p>He said the success and achievements of Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration was as a result of the cooperation of the traditional rulers, noting that the government would not relent in improving their welfare so that the peace been enjoying in Ogun State would continue.</p>
<p>He appreciated the concerns of the Egba Traditional Council which according to him has supported the hard work and effort of this Government, he promised that the request, observations and challenges which the traditional rulers had communicated to him would be passed to the Governor for consideration and necessary action.</p>
<p>Chief Ojuko reaffirmed the present administration&#8217;s zeal and determination to improve on their welfare, adding that in due course those promises would be considered.</p>
<p>He however lamented on dwindling economy and financial challenges confronting the Country which he said that it has slowed down activities in fulfillment of those promises earlier made to the traditional rulers in the State.</p>
<p>He then urged them to address the issues relating to multiplicity of Baales in some communities within the traditional council areas, which may turn to fracas and lawlessness if not timely and appropriately addressed.</p>
<p>Responding, Chairman of the Egba Traditional Council and also the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (CFR) appreciated the Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s infrastructural development and also commended the visit of the Commissioner which he described as the first of its kind.</p>
<p>He further stated that they were aware of the present predicament facing the Country, but appealed to the State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun to augment their monthly salaries in order to meet up with the present economic situation of the Country.</p>
