Many of them who described their experience with the staffers of the company as pathetic also accused the pension administrators of deliberate acts to delay and deny them their accrued rights.

One of the clients, Mr Sunday Ademola recounted the cold treatment he gets from the staff of the Onipanu regional office of TrustFund in bid to get his 25 percent accrued pension since September 2016.

He explained how he was asked to go to his former employers, a bank, to get his correct date of birth. He noted that when he protested that a mail from Trust Fund could do it, he was literally asked to take his leave, that such was the procedure.

According to him, he had to make the journey from Onipanu office of the PFA to Victoria Island where his former employers were located. Eventually, he was told a mail from Trust Fund would suffice. The bank also apologised on behalf of Trust Fund.

He noted that the only disparity is just a figure in the year of birth which he believes must have been wrongly inputted by the organisation at registration.

“Every document presented to them, including the report from my former employers have same information which is my correct date of birth. Why would their own records show 1979 while others have 1978?” He queried.

Another client of the organisation, a septuagenarian, Mr. Hassan Ibitoye, busted into tears when a staff of Trust Fund Pension told him, coldly, to go and get a corrected letter from his former employers.

According to the 74 years old who resides in Sango Ota, Ogun state that was the third time of asking. His former employers were located in Apapa and he has been asked to go there twice earlier.

He lamented that his health has been adversely affected since he started coming to get his pension.

He told NEWSVERGE that he had expended all he had left on transportation from Ogun State to the regional office of Trust Fund and his former office in Apapa.

Tearfully, he asked NEWSVERGE to imagine his age and the stress of climbing to the top floor of the three-storey building housing the regional office without an elevator in place.

Some of them however, called on National Pension Commission (PenCom) to come to their aid and review the standards of practice of Pension Funds Administrators (PFAs).
