In its bid to join ensure safety on Nigerian roads, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has vowed to clamp down any school buses that do not have insurance.
The Commission accused many school proprietors in the country for not insuring the vehicles used in conveying pupils to schools.
Paul Abiti, Public Relations Officer of the Corps said this at a forum in Lagos, noting that the Commission had discovered that many school buses do not have insurance certificates. And wondered while school proprietors should engage in such act.
Abiti, posited that the Commission has resolved to henceforth, clampdown both school buses and any vehicle without insurance.
He said FRSC regulation on school buses requires that they have comprehensive insurance. He called on the Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA) to engage the schools by enlightening them to hasten compliance.
He also urged insurance practitioner to reach out to those who patronise fake insurance racketeers, by taking their operations closed to the people.
