One dead, 7 injured as Police raids bunker sites in Ogun

A squad of armed Policemen on Monday repelled assault by pipeline vandals Ibafo area of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State, leaving a civilian dead and about seven others injured.

Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, Spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the death of the civilian during a gun battle with pipeline vandals in Ibafo.

Adejobi explained that death of the civilian occurred during a sporadic shooting between the security agents and suspected oil pipeline vandals in Kara-Ibafo area of the state.

He told reporters that the assault from the suspected vandals was repelled by the security men attached to the area while assuring the residents of adequate security in the region.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer also maintained that the situation had been put under control.
