The Director of Sports and Training, Oyo State, Mr .Tunde Popoola has called on residents of the State to engage in regular exercise to prevent unnecessary sickness.
Popoola, who was speaking during the 2016 maiden Oyo State Sports Council Mid-Week Fitness training held at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, said that active engagement in exercise will make them more productive in the discharge of their duties.
He noted that the programme was put together to keep the staff of the Council fit and help reduce stress while at work.
The Director of Sports and Training also noted that frequent training is capable of erecting weak bones and encourage free flow of blood which enables human system to function as expected.
He however sued interested persons especially staffers in the State secretariat to join in the weekly exercise as the programme is not limited to staff of the council alone.
Meanwhile, Mr Gboyega Makinde, Director of Sports Organization testified that the fitness training has enhanced workers’ productivity and approach to sporting issues.
