The General Manager, Ogun State Parks and Garages Development Board (PAGADEB), Alhaji Ola-Ayo Ogunsolu gave the warning when he visited some of the illegal parks along Brewery/Ita-Oshin road and its environs and the lay-back at the Kuto round-about in Abeokuta.

Ogunsola, in a statement signed by his Press Officer, Mrs. Folake Ade-Adeniji expressed displeasure at the way Ita-Oshin Garage was being managed, adding that all units should operate in the garage.

“Henceforth, no union should load passengers on the bridge at Brewery, even with 100 units, this park here at Ita-Oshin is spacious enough for you, I don’t see any reason why you should load outside the garage, you have rented out the whole space meant for vehicle lots to shop owners, even to alcohol sellers and the likes, next time I come here, I will be here with security agents and bulldozers to demolish all these shops without approval’’, he said.

He however sounded a note of warning to both Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to desist from taking passengers on any of the newly constructed roads, especially the Lafenwa road.

Ogunsolu ordered the immediate removal of a mechanic workshop situated inside the Ita-Oshin garage, citing that the space being used by the mechanic was meant for the use of the vehicle operators in the garage, charging food vendors and others to ensure a clean environment.

He also visited the lay back bus stop in front of the Cultural Center, Kuto round-about where he warned drivers to ensure that only vehicles heading to Laderin, Federal and State Secretariats, and Paramount FM area would be allowed to load passengers, adding that vehicles going to Siun and Owode should relocate to Kuto with immediate effect.
