APC official, Adamawa CoS exchange blows over LG affairs
The Chief of staff to the Adamawa state governor, Alh. Abdulrahaman Abba Jimeta, last weekend, exchanged blows with the All Progressives Congress (APC) official of Yola North Local Government Area.
The fight, which made Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla to personally intervene, reprimanded the two chieftains of the party for disappointing him considering their status in the society.
The row ensued during a meeting of party chairmen from the 21 Local Government Areas held at the residence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar with the governor and some party chieftains in attendance.
Eye witnesses told our correspondent that trouble started when the Chief of Staff insisted that he did not recognise Baba-Ahmad as the Yola North party chairman, so he had to leave the meeting.
The meeting continued after party elders appealed to the two personalities to bury their differences but no sooner than the meeting was concluded, the two men resumed verbal fight.
Then the Chief of Staff removed his gown and the two men threw punches at each other until the governor held Baba-Ahmad, while a party chieftain, Lawalu Gire took hold of the Chief of Staff to end the fight.
Soon after the face-off, the APC chairman announced the suspension of the Chief of Staff from the Yola North chapter of the party for indiscipline.
