Tears as movie stars mourn Arakangudu

It was period of tears and wailing on Wednesday as Nigeria’s top Yoruba actor, Sikiru Adesina, popularly called, Arakangudu, was buried at his family house at Mubarakah Street in Osogbo, Osun State.

Arakangudu reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday, in Kaduna while shooting a movie.

During his burial, the family members and movie stars in Osogbo expressed displeasure over his sudden death.

His first son, Luqman Omotolani, said, “It sadden my heart when I heard the death of my father, before his demise, he spoke with me on Monday.”

Some of the movie stars eulogised the deceased, describing him as a veteran actor who devoted himself to theatre work.

One of them, Mrs. Toyin Adegbola, popularly known as ‘Ashewo to re Mecca’, described Arakangudu as someone who is talented, and always contented.

Earlier, popular comedian, Bolaji Amusan, a.k.a Mr. Latin, said, “Arakangudu was a talented actor and a wonderful person. Like him, I belong to Osun Arts Council since I am from Osun state. He spoke Hausa fluently because he lived in the North.”
