SDP will springs surprises in 2019 – Party chieftain

A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and former governorship candidate of Party in the 2015 general elections in Taraba state, Chief David Sabo Kente has urged Nigerians to watch out for what the party will do in 2019.

SDP will springs surprises in 2019 – Party chieftainKente, a philanthropist and founder of DSK Foundation stated this on Monday in Jalingo while fielding questions from journalists.

The SDP chieftain said already there were three visible cracks in the ruling All Progressive Congress which will likely break up and that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) the main opposition party in the country was on the verge of collapse, leaving SDP as the only viable alternative.

Kente said some top nurtures in APC and PDP as well as other parties have started approaching the party for talks on a possible merger with a view to spring surprises come 2019.

On the sincerity of the approach by other political parties and groups to join forces with SDP to form a mega party, Kente said APC came about as a result of mergers and Nigerians now know the power of mega parties and those coming will not toy with the opportunity.

“As we progress, there will be various movements and mergers that would culminate into one major mega party because of the political sagas in the country and obviously SDP represents that alternative given our structures and spread,” he said.

He called on the people of the state to support President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Darius Ishaku to enable them provide dividends of democracy.

According to him, the call became necessary to support leaders God has given them to succeed in their various offices.

“We have reach the end of the road for now until 2019 and the right thing to do is to support our leaders irrespective of our party differences to enable them succeed and provide dividends of democracy.

“In Taraba, I urged all to support governor Darius Ishaku because we have reach a level that he need our support to forge ahead and at the federal level, we need to support President Buhari and our minister Aisha Alhassan. We need to support them or else, Taraba will not get her rightful share at the national level,” he said.
