North-East Youth roots for Duhu to be APC national Vice Chair

A youth group under the auspices of North East Youth for true Democracy (NEYOD) has called the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to appoint Dr. Umar Duhu as the north-east Vice Chairman of the party.

The Youth in a statement issued in Yola, Adamawa state, stated that Duhu, has all it takes to hold the position than anybody else in the zone seeing the role he played in supporting the party to what it is today.

“Who else can you tell us can perform better than Dr. Umar Duhu, the person that served as Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of State for Interior and later Defence, he became the Adamawa State ANPP Chairman between 2010 and 2013, and doubled as the Special Assistant to the ANPP Board of Trustees Chairman, and he was equally the North East Chairman for the ANPP Forum of State Chairmen.

“Umar has also served as the coordinating Chairman for the Forum of ANPP Adamawa State Chairman effectively.” The statement said.

The group maintained that the positions merited Dr. Duhu, to be the national Vice Chairman (North-East) of the Governing APC.

It also blamed the “unfortunate” APC national convention in 2014, on the foul played where Duhu’s name was tactically deleted from the list of elected officers, owing to the disagreements between two APC leaders, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

“Duhu became a sacrificial lamb”, it said.

In the same vein, the North East Youth for true Democracy (NEYOD) lament plans of the leaders of APC to make Dr. Duhu, the only sacrificial lamb of the party, after he has graciously served for the successes of the party’s previous elections. But kept faith with the APC, and remained a more loyal member of the party.

“We remained hopeful, one day, APC will act positively on this complaint, on the conduct of the convention which meted injustice on Dr. Duhu.

“Till date, the APC has not acted, nor out of courtesy, communicate to Dr. Umar Duhu, on the outcome of its conclusion on his (Duhu) complaint.”

After the Much and mightier bridges Duhu crossed, he bend on constructing and bridging up walls of hatred against the Party, he make sure the party remains peaceful in all her affairs with Party loyal members.

The leader of the group, Alhaji Bana Zanna, who append his signature to the letter said, “today, the heavens has opened for Duhu to return to his position of choice as the national Vice Chairman, North-East of the APC.

“APC must give it to Duhu for being instrumental to the peace, stability and formation of APC structure in the Northern States, particularly in the politically more delicate States of Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba States.

“It is not too much for us to ask for the position of the National Vice Chairman for Umar Duhu, North East of the APC. A position he held effectively and with records to show. If APC is about Justice and is willing to govern as peace setters and symbol of embodiment, Duhu truly merits this office, which became vacant as a result of the appointment of the former occupant as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.”
