NEMA donates relief materials to returnees in Hong
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has handed over nine trucks of assorted relief materials to the returnees in communities affected by Boko Haram attacks in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
While presenting the items in Hong, the headquarters of Hong LGA, the Director-General of the agency, Alhaji Sani Sidi, said that the donation was to bring succour to the returnees.
He said, besides, that the huge relief materials donated to the communities was through the consignment of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawan.
Represented by the Adamawa Co-ordinator of the agency, Mr. Saad Bello, Sidi said that the donation was the second of its kind.
“The first phase of the similar donation was in Mubi and the agency has concluded arrangement to reach Maiha, Michika and Madagali local government areas for similar donation,” Sidi said.
He appealed to the local government authority and the distribution committee to distribute the materials fairly amongst the returnees.
In his remark shortly after receiving the materials on behalf of the retutnees, the Head of Service of the area, Alhaji Hamidu Misi, thanked NEMA and Secretary to the Government of the Federation for the gesture.
He advised the people of the area to always be security conscious and report any suspicious character to the nearest security post.
The Chairman Distribution committee of the relief materials, Pa Cletus Hong, assured that the materials would be judiciously distributed.
