Adamawa LG poll: APC gives free forms to women, persons with disability

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa has given free forms to women and people with disability vying for the position of Chairperson or councillorship.

According to the organising secretary of the party, Alhaji Ahmed Lawal, on Thursday said that the gesture was enshrined in the party’s manifestoes to carry everybody along irrespective of their social background and gender.

Ahmed told our correspondent at the party secretariat in Yola, that the commencement of selling of nomination form by the party is as a result of election announcement by the state INEC to conduct Local Governments elections in three months time.

He assures of credible primaries and election that will be generally acceptable to all as the party stands of justice and fairness to all.

“As you can see people are just coming to pick forms, any Woman vying for any position her form is free, but to pay for special interest form that is only 50,000 Naira while the disabled forms and interest fee are all free and we will make sure justice is done to everyone”. Said

The party secretariat is filled up with aspirants coming from all works of life within the state with their supporters, picking forms of various categories and chanting the party slogan of “Change”

Vincent Musa is the acting Secretary of the party in the state and one time Local Government chairman of Hong, picked a form at the rate of N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) and with a special interest fee of N50,000.00, told our correspondent that he has fulfilled his assignment for his people who have sent him to do.

“I was send by my people, even the money of this form was given by people who want me to contest the Chairmanship position of my Local Government because they know I can do my best haven been one before”. Vincent said.

A former lawmaker in the Adamawa House of Assembly From Demsa LG, Mrs Wale Fwa have equally picked her form today attesting that it’s a destiny coming to a reality and with the support of her people who have always being her political backbone there is no way for her to fail in the coming elections.
