Beneficiaries of Total Nigeria’s skills acquisition programme roll out achievement
Four months after Total Nigeria Plc commissioned the fish farm belonging to one of the beneficiaries of the Skills Acquisition Program in Koko, Delta state, the gains are already being felt.
Owner of the fish farm, Uteyin Anthony, disclosed during a monitoring visit of the CSR team to the farm on recently, that since it was commissioned in November 2015, he has harvested and sold the first batch of a thousand fish to members of the community and was already grooming another set of fingerlings.
The CSR team was not left in doubt about the immediate and long term benefit of the programme, as they were very impressed with the farm operations and output as confirmed by the obviously excited fish farmer.
The Skills Acquisition Program of Total Nigeria Plc is a sustainable youth development program designed to empower less privileged youths of our host communities.
Since its inception in 2006, the programme has graduated over 60 youths in Kaduna State and 40 in Delta State after being trained in vocations of their choice, including Welding & Fabrication, Fish & Crop farming, Fashion Designing, Computer Studies, Furniture making and Hair dressing.
