General Manager, Human Resources & Corporate Services, who doubles as the Company’s Secretary Mrs. Bunmi Popoola-Mordi, while presenting the starter packs to the beneficiaries, told them to make the best use of the opportunity to expand their businesses, benefit their communities as well as provide opportunities for other potential beneficiaries.
Mrs. Popoola-Mordi said that a good start of the pilot project will determine the growth and success of the scheme, urging the beneficiaries to approach the project with utmost seriousness.
ARSMEP, a CSR oriented program, is implemented in collaboration with the company’s Awango Resellers Club (ARC) program organised by the Solar Services team of Total Nigeria Plc. Beyond providing startup funds to the Awango solar lamps resellers of Total host communities, ARSMEP also provides economic empowerment, job creation to the people while also lighting up communities.
This forms part of Total’s CSR strategy of inclusive participation of stakeholders in our activities through consistent engagement. This process ensures our positive impact is felt by communities specifically where it is essential and beneficial to them.
The resellers were trained on entrepreneurship, book keeping and product knowledge ahead of the commencement of the project. Resellers were also provided with accessories like Awango Umbrellas, chairs and tables.
