No casualty in RANONA factory fire accident – Olam
The management of Olam Nigeria has said that no casualty was recorded during the fire accident that broke out at its juice plant in Isolo area of Lagos State on Friday.
The company in a statement by Ade Adefeko, head of corporate and Head Corporate and Government Relations, said that the fire was put under control by a combined team of the Federal Fire Service and the Lagos State Fire Service.
Adefako, cleared that the staff of the building was successfully evacuated and no life was lost
The Head Corporate and Government Relations Olam Nigeria, recounted “The fire broke out at around 2pm and we immediately alerted the Lagos State Fire Service, as well as the Federal Fire Service and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
“In parallel, we had immediately initiated our in-house fire and safety procedures to get staff to safety. We also mobilized our fire equipment to contain the fire as far as we were able until the arrival of the emergency services.
The company however commended the efforts of the fire fighting agencies and noted that their fast intervention ensured that the damage was limited only to property.
“We also applaud the professional conduct of our employees.
“We are now liaising with the relevant investigative authorities to establish the cause of the fire.”
