2016 Promasidor Quill Awards Entry Closes April 14 – organiser

Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell Milk has said entries for this year’s Promasidor Quill Awards will close at midnight on April 14, 2016.

Andrew Enahoro Head, Legal/Public Relations, Promasidor Nigeria Limited, who made the assertion in an interview in his office in Lagos on Monday, advised journalists, who are yet to submit their entries to complete their application process before the deadline.

Enahoro acknowledged that Promsidor had already received many entries for the different categories of the awards, but he expressed optimism that many more entries would still be uploaded before the deadline.

He therefore advised prospective contestants for this year’s Awards to upload their entries as Promasidor would not extend the entry window for any of the seven categories. The categories are: Best Report on Children and Nutrition, Brand Advocate of the Year; Best CSR and Industry Report of the Year; Best Photo Story of the Year; Education Reporter of the Year; Best Online Reporter of the Year; and Future Writer of the Year.

His words: “We do not want any qualified journalist to lose the opportunity provided by this initiative. We have already received many applications for all the categories. We still expect to receive more. I am therefore using this medium to advise journalists if you feel that your work is good enough to merit an award then, you put it in. That is what it is all about – to encourage and reward excellence”.

He explained that the annual competition is open to journalists in different parts of the country. In order to give equal opportunity to all qualified journalists, he said.

Promasidor uses the e-platform for the entry submission “We don’t want a situation where the scope will be limited to any specific geographical location. Our products are sold pan-Nigeria”, he stated.

He stated that with the e-platform, there is an instant acknowledgement of entry. The website also has help lines and email addresses where any issues are promptly attended to.

“In the unlikely event that you cannot upload your entries, you can send your entries to our PR Agency, TPT International.  What we want is the word format, a scanned copy of the published work, and short rationale for the work,” he said.
