Boko Haram: Troops repel fresh attack, as 3 soldiers, 2 vigilante members killed in Adamawa
The Nigerian troops has repelled a fresh deadly attack by some fleeing Boko Haram insurgents in Izige town of Madagali Local Government Area in Adamawa State.
Reports from the area indicated that the fleeing Boko Haram members lunched attack in the wee hours of Monday killing three soldiers and two vigilante members but were force to stage a retreat due to superior fire power from the military.
According to a vigilante member who preferred anonymity said the insurgents were forced to flee after losing many fighters in the encounter.
“They engaged the military for hours, killing three soldiers and two vigilante members before they were finally over powered and fled through the connecting bush but they removed some corpses of their fighters”, he stated.
A fleeing resident of Madagali, Wadzi Amos when interviewed in Yola said that the insurgents were well repelled by the Nigerian Army and Vigilante groups killing scores of the fleeing Boko Haram members.
He also appreciate the effort of the member representing Madagali constituency in the Adamawa House of assembly, Hon Emmanuel Tsandu for encouraging the Army and Vigilante by given them all kinds of support to always fight the insurgents.
