NAMA boss pledges uninterrupted NAVAIDS services

Abuja airport closure: NAMA upgrades Kaduna navigation aids

The Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Emmanuel Anasi has assured of NAMAs commitment to the delivery of uninterrupted air navigation services across the nation’s airspace.

Anasi, speaking at this year’s first quarter Airspace Manager’s Forum which held in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, said “this is reinforced by the fact that all our navigational facilities across the country have remained serviceable and are performing at optimal levels.”

According to the acting managing director, “We recently calibrated our navigational aids and also successfully completed the ICAO Audit within the period of this present management, gratitude to the Airspace Managers for ensuring safety of air navigation in their various domains.”

He stressed the need to transparently and broadly review the agency’s processes and administrative structures at every level to enhance efficiency of service delivery.

The NAMA boss affirmed that both operational and administrative processes in the agency were going on seamlessly.

The Chairman of the forum, Mr. Gabriel Akpen commended the new management for ensuring that navigational infrastructure across the country were performing optimally, even as he lauded efforts of management in building capacity of critical personnel within the agency through training and retraining of staff.

The visit to Adamawa State afforded Engr. Anasi and his management team the opportunity to inspect the agency’s navigational facilities at Yola airport and as well as the TRACON Radar Site at Numan. The team also paid a courtesy call on the Lamido Adamawa, Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha who commended NAMA “for ensuring safety and security of air travel in the country.”
